Jac’Keyia Wells

Counselor in Training

Children/Adolescents and Individual

My name is Jac’Keyia Wells and I am working towards my Masters of Clinical Mental Health Counseling at National Louis University. I have a holistic therapy style that uses integrated modalities to capture a variety of techniques and behavior patterns to gain insight.

I particularly love using Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy as a tool to help individuals recognize and understand their thought and feeling patterns, with the goal of creating new, more effective patterns. My natural calm and supportive counseling style emphasizes encouraging and uplifting others throughout their journey in healing the mind, body, and spirit as it gives individuals the confidence needed to feel empowered and new.

My therapy style and focus are more collaborative and camaraderie. I feel equality between the therapist and client combined with a teamwork approach is found to have the most effective outcomes. I specialize in working with Ex-offenders, Post incarceration, DUI Offenders, Victims of Domestic and Family Violence, Perpetrators of Domestic Violence, Troubled Teens, Mood Disorders, Stress Management, and Motivational Interviewing.
